Manage your profile information, update your email address, and change your password from the account settings page.

Accessing Account Settings

  1. Log in to TrueMail
  2. Click your avatar in the top-right corner
  3. Select Profile from the dropdown

Or navigate directly to /profile.

Profile Information

Updating your name

  1. Go to Profile
  2. Edit the Name field
  3. Click Save Changes

Your name appears:

  • In the dashboard header
  • On invoices and receipts
  • In support communications

Changing Your Email

Changing your email requires verification to protect your account.

How to change email

  1. Go to Profile
  2. Enter your new email in the Email field
  3. Click Save Changes
  4. Check your new email for a confirmation link
  5. Click the link to confirm the change

Important notes

  • The confirmation link expires after 24 hours
  • Your old email remains active until you confirm
  • You can cancel by not clicking the link
  • If you don’t receive the email, check your spam folder

Why verification?

Email verification prevents:

  • Accidental email changes
  • Unauthorized account takeover
  • Losing access to your account

Changing Your Password

How to change password

  1. Go to Profile
  2. Scroll to the Change Password section
  3. Enter your Current Password
  4. Enter your New Password
  5. Confirm your New Password
  6. Click Update Password

Password requirements

  • At least 8 characters
  • We recommend using a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols
  • Don’t reuse passwords from other sites

Tips for strong passwords

  • Use a password manager
  • Create unique passwords for each service
  • Consider using a passphrase (multiple words)

Forgot Your Password?

If you can’t log in:

  1. Go to the login page
  2. Click Forgot Password?
  3. Enter your email address
  4. Check your email for reset instructions
  5. Click the link and create a new password

The reset link expires after a few hours for security.

Best practices

  1. Use a strong, unique password - Don’t reuse passwords
  2. Keep your email secure - It’s your recovery method
  3. Review API keys - Revoke any you don’t recognize
  4. Check login activity - Watch for unfamiliar sessions

If you suspect unauthorized access

  1. Change your password immediately
  2. Revoke all API keys
  3. Check your credit balance and history
  4. Contact support if you see suspicious activity

Sessions

TrueMail keeps you logged in for convenience. To manage your sessions:

Logging out

Click your avatar and select Log Out to end your current session.

Logging out everywhere

If you need to log out from all devices (e.g., after a security concern):

  1. Change your password
  2. This invalidates all existing sessions
  3. Log in again on devices you want to use

Deleting Your Account

If you want to delete your TrueMail account:

  1. Cancel any active subscription first
  2. Email [email protected]
  3. Include “Account Deletion Request” in the subject
  4. Confirm your account email

What happens when you delete

  • Your account is permanently removed
  • All data (lists, filters, history) is deleted
  • Any remaining credits are forfeited
  • This cannot be undone

Before deleting

  • Download any data you need (validated lists, etc.)
  • Cancel your subscription to stop future charges
  • Revoke API keys if used in external systems

FAQ

Can I change my email to one already in use?

No, each email address can only be associated with one account.

I didn’t receive the email confirmation link

  1. Check your spam/junk folder
  2. Make sure you entered the correct email
  3. Try again or contact support

Can I merge two accounts?

We don’t currently support account merging. Contact support if you have multiple accounts.

How do I update my billing email?

Billing emails go to your account email. Update your email to change where invoices are sent.
